I know, exciting right? Being that it is March Madness time, I wanted to take my self professed Top 20 Movies of All Time and pit them against each other in a battle to the death. Friend against friend. Godfather against Dorothy. Truman against Darth Vader. Madness!!
When I look at this list, it honestly looks off to me. It seems too obvious to me and it doesn’t seem very personal. However, this may be good because it’s all part of the process. Over the course of March, I will be rewatching these 20 movies, choosing the winner in each match, and eventually trying to make more sense of my so-called “Favorite Movies.” Does that make any sense? Here’s the list:
1. The Shawshank Redemption
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back
4. The Godfather, Part II
5. The Wizard of Oz
6. The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers
7. 12 Angry Men
8. Jaws
9. Back to the Future
10. The Truman Show
11. The Godfather
12. High Fidelity
13. A Christmas Story
14. Toy Story
15. It’s a Wonderful Life
16. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
17. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
18. GoodFellas
19. Titanic
20. Batman Begins
So, there’s the list as I see it today. Now, here are the first round matchups, after randomizing them:

High Fidelity VS.
The Truman Show
Titanic VS. GoodFellas
The Godfather, Part II VS. A Christmas Story
The Godfather VS. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Back to the Future VS. The Wizard of Oz
It’s a Wonderful Life VS. Jaws
The Shawshank Redemption VS. Pulp Fiction

Batman Begins VS. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Toy Story VS. Star Wars: Episode V
12 Angry Men VS. The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers
Perhaps this will be much more interesting than I thought! Some great matchups, including my #1 and #2 going against each other in the very first round! One thing is for sure, these are going to be very difficult decisions to make. Obviously, I won’t get this done over the month of March. We’ll see how long it takes to get to the #1 movie.
My question to all of you is this: Should I post the results of each matchup after I watch the two movies, wait until I have at least 5 of the matchups ready to discuss, or just wait until I have finished watching each movie?
Hopefully all of this makes sense. I don’t really feel like explaining it all again.

I think that you should post them as you watch them this will therefore allow you to put ideas and why you chose one over the other. I await with anticipation your final outcome of the films on your list i have seen i have to agree with almost all of them.
Let the battle commence.
